We're going to try something new. This week, we took a look at our feature backlog, and only looked at things requested by our subscribers. We took an entire day, and only worked on these features.

We call it "Make Subscribers Happy Day." Thinking about making it a monthly thing. Doesn't mean we won't implement suggestions by users throughout our development cycle. Just means we'll dedicate a whole extra day to the effort.

For example, Travis S (one of our more profilic feature suggesters), wanted to see price information instead of cost basis in the Open Positions section of our Stock Experts pages. We added that to Open Positions and Historical Trades as the default option. Pick a stock expert and try it out.

Jim R found an issue where the "Remember Me" checkbox wasn't remembering his email. Now it does.

3/22/2010 -
Today, we fixed a bug where some members using Internet Explorer were unable to access premium features of the site. They would login successfully; however, the site would think the member only had a "Free" subscription.

To fix the issue, please log out, then log back in.

Some of you may have noticed this already. We initially thought everyone would be happy if we just tracked the top 600 most popular stocks. However, you told us you wanted more.

We spent a lot of time and brain power figuring out how to scale out our systems. We now track over 7,200 symbols. We also expanded to 303,739 Trading Systems and Stock Experts . . . so far.

We're still working out all the kinks.

For example, things seemed to compute much faster in our development environment, but got magnitudes slower when we shipped it into production. This caused our daily stock alerts to be sent out much later than usual. We had to figure out some really interesting ways to speed up our compute, and we'll be constantly focused on getting things to work faster.

That was really difficult undertaking, and we hope you all enjoy it.

We've been busy creating a new way of looking at our stock experts:

We've also cooked up some standard technical indicators people love. We only track the ones that seem effective:

One thing you'll notice is this thing we call "confidence." This is a custom score we use internally to rank our trading systems. We use things like annual return, trade frequency, distribution of trades, etc.

Our team received comments on how it would be great if our stock predicitions were sent out via email alerts. We listened (and really love the idea).

You can subscribe to email alerts in 2 ways:
1) Go to your favorite stock page, and click "Get Email Alerts!" in the top right hand corner. You can then add the stock to an existing list, or create a new one. Try it out: SPY Stock Page
2) Go to the watchlists page, and click "Subscribe via email" on the top right hand corner. You can then select your subscription options. Try it out: Manage your watchlists

12/2/2009 - Have you noticed that we're tracking more symbols? We got requests to track various symbols that we weren't tracking. Our team worked hard on scaling out the infrastructure. Now we track all stocks in the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, and the symbols we used to track before. Enjoy!
